DECEMBER 2009
December was primarily dedicated to the mixing of the new My Tiny Circus album that's due to come out the end of Jan.
The band has some absolutely stunning new material boasting infectious melody lines and lush arrangements. It was a total pleasure to work on!
Their CD release party is scheduled for Jan 30 at the Mercury Lounge in Ottawa.
Keep in mind our Holiday Hours for Dec/Jan - the studio will be closed from Sat Dec 19/2009 to Sun Jan 3/2010.
Normal business hours will resume on Mon Jan 4, 2010.
Season's Greetings to everyone and all the best for the New Year!
NOVEMBER 2009
Completed the video work started last month for Silverstar Promotions and MRI Plus -
and we had a ton more corporate voice work to do.
Local rockers Fused were back in for 3-song session - and they're sounding hot, as usual!
We also made significant technological changes - adding a brand new high-powered audio DAW to the control room's complement of gear.
With the holidays on the horizon, we also had several seasonal projects in to close out the month and get us all in the Christmas spirit!
OCTOBER 2009
Hit the ground running with some video work for Silverstar Promotions,
as well as for MRI Plus - and we had MoSayk in for a quick 4-song demo.
A lot small mixing projects, too numerous to mention - and we also had an archive project for Jeff Waters of Annihiliator fame.
Rogers Television also paid the studio a visit to shoot a spot for their
popular Daytime program.
The month capped-off with the usual slate of voice-over and voice-editing work.
SEPTEMBER 2009
The month started on a high note with the Finals for Ottawa's Kiwanis Idol 2009. This year's top-20 were absolutely outstanding and narrowing down the list to a
top-3 was very difficult. All the contestants should be very proud and Blue
Bear Sound was proud to offer prizes to this year's winners:
- Angela Rozman, 1st place (middle
in photo)
- Sophia Pantuso, 2nd place (left)
- Samantha Testa, 3rd place (right)
The studio was busy this month with more audio restoration work, several voice
projects - including one for Marketing Breakthroughs, production on a
relaxation therapy project for Sylvie Bedard, a new CD by easy-listening
local artist Faye McMillen, a 2-song demo for Group Unity (comprised of the immense talents of Jenna Taggart, Angela Rozman,
& Stephanie Shaw), and work still continues on Kiwanis Idol winner Kelcie Brown's new song.
Rogers Television also paid the studio a visit to shoot a spot for their
popular Daytime program.
AUGUST 2009
Local up'n coming singer Kira Wilkie was in with a vocal session for
producer Tommy Gilham/Macarmill
Productions. Kemptville singer/songwriter Mallory Krock was in
cutting a 14-song demo, along with a Live-Off-The-Floor session for Joel
St.Cyr's band.
We also performed several audio restorations, a fairly-involved video post
project, and the usual slate of corporate voice work.
JULY 2009
So far this month... Bengali rockers OPartheeb were in to record their first demo and Lovecircus was back for another session - doing an original for Sarah McClurg.
Voice work was done for Transport Canada, and work still continues on Kiwanis Idol winner Kelcie Brown's new song
and on Hush
Frequency's new album.
MAY
& JUNE 2009
Work continued on Kiwanis Idol winner Kelcie Brown's new song along with a mixing project for local producer Cheryl Driskell, and we had the usual slate of voice work for Nancy Morris, Autoskill Int'l, NAV
Canada, Dium Solutions, and Xactly Design & Advertising.
More tracking was done for Hush
Frequency's (formerly Bodhi) new album, along with more mixing for Balkan Fusion artist Gypsy Ravens newest album.
We weren't short on video projects either - more video work was done for Realife Entertainment, local band Forbidden Dream, as well as a
promotional project for The Lifesaving Society.
APRIL
2009
More tracking was done for Hush
Frequency's (formerly Bodhi) new album, along with more mixing for Balkan Fusion artist Gypsy Ravens newest album, and
also a new track for Alex Lacasse.
More work was done on Kiwanis Idol winner Kelcie Brown's new song and outstanding fingerstyle guitarist Denis Turbide was back in for more recording.
A lot of video work was done as well - projects for networking guru Michael Hughes, as well as a
project for local European eatery Jazz'oo Bar and Lounge.
MARCH
2009
Mixing continued for a My Tiny Circus project, and local rockers Leaving Beechwood were in for a demo session. Tracking and mixing also
continues for Balkan Fusion artist Gypsy Ravens newest album,
along with a new track for Alex Lacasse's latest album.
Kiwanis Idol winner Kelcie Brown came in to work on her new song for the upcoming video, and
more work was done on Hush
Frequency's (formerly Bodhi) new album.
FEBRUARY
2009
Ottawa rockers Kinnexa Cross were in once again to complete a new
demo. Mixing was underway for a My Tiny Circus project, along with 2
songs by Scarce Herd, and a number of other Indie artists, along with
the usual slate of corporate voice and several video projects.
Also in for this month were vocal sessions for Kiwanis Idol winner Regine MacCamus and Greely Idol winner Katy Maltby.
JANUARY
2009
Happy New Year, everyone!
January is starting off running with tracking & mixing of 2 more tunes for Balkan Fusion artist Gypsy Ravens newest album.
After a few minor revisions, mastering is finally complete for
Ottawa metal-rockers Endyium's new album and it should
go in for duplication shortly, a vocal demo for Ottawa singer Rick LeChevalier was produced, and the newly-formed TNT & d'Fuse was also in to cut a
"live-off-the-floor" demo.
Work continues on Hush
Frequency's (formerly Bodhi)
new album and some finishing touches are being done to Alex Lacasse's latest song.
